What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a site places on your device. We use cookies sparingly. This page lists every cookie the Registry sets and what it does.
Strictly necessary
- session — signs you into the Registry. Deleted when you sign out.
- theme — remembers your light or dark preference. Local to this device.
- unit — remembers whether you view volumes in litres or gallons.
These cannot be turned off — the site does not work without them.
What we do not set
- No advertising cookies.
- No cross-site tracking cookies.
- No third-party analytics tags on the marketing pages.
Turning cookies off
Every modern browser lets you clear cookies or block them from being set. If you block strictly necessary cookies you will be signed out and your unit and theme preferences will revert on each visit.
