Captiva Verde and EPA: Verified American Water

Captiva Verde and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have formalized a joint verification pathway for atmospheric water credits produced inside the United States. Under the pathway, every station registered to the Water Credit Registry follows a uniform sampling and reporting cadence that the EPA reviews on a rolling basis.

A single national standard

Before the pathway, buyers had no consistent way to compare one operator to another. A credit from Sedona and a credit from Jacksonville looked identical on a receipt but were verified against very different playbooks. The joint standard collapses that ambiguity into one specification that every operator on the registry follows.

The pathway is versioned. Protocol updates are proposed publicly, reviewed by the EPA, and only take effect after a fixed comment window. Existing credits are never invalidated by a later version.
