US Army Corps validates protocol v2.1

June 10, 2026 · Water Credit Registry

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completes an independent review of the v2.1 verification specification.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has completed an independent technical review of the Water Credit Protocol version 2.1. The review covered the metering hardware specification, the countersignature workflow, and the append-only ledger integrity model.

What the review confirms

The Army Corps confirmed three properties that matter for federal counterparties: every credit corresponds to a physically measured gallon, verification is repeatable by a third party at any point in time, and the retirement record is permanent.

The full review will be published on the Standards page. Federal agencies that want to procure Water Credits against the reviewed specification can now do so under existing acquisition authorities.
